4th Quarter Huddle!

With just a few months left until we embark on another 365, a fresh slate of space, time and opportunity, what goals do you want to accomplish before we start to write out resolutions? And how do you plan on getting these done? These are questions that I posed to myself after sending my edits off to the printer, with so many dreams and goals that I want to do and accomplish, developing a working routine could help me get closer to realistically becoming the media hyphenate I see myself as. So yes, that means that the first volume of A Magazine is on its way!

I believe that I've stumbled upon some gems that could help jumpstart us into a productive last quarter!

Personally, I noticed my 'goals' list used to be hefty but it was because I was piling everything on one page and not being particular or practical for that matter, honestly afraid that if I didn't write out every single thing, that I'd lose sight of my goals and dreams. Well, it's time to snap out of that because you're dreams will forever be yours, God etched those out specifically for you.

Currently I'm reading 'Think and Grow Rich' and Napoleon Hill breaks down the starting point of achievement in six simple steps in the very first chapter: Desire

In summary--

  1. Fix your mind on the goal/goals. Write it out, then repeat it aloud. A tip for a subconscious reminder for me is writing 1-2 goals on my mirror with a dry erase marker so that I see it every time I'm in the bathroom, which if you drink water like me, is quite frequently.

  2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return. (an internship, volunteering your time, late nights, or free work samples)

  3. Establish a date when you intend to accomplish said goal.

  4. Create a plan, begin right away whether you feel like you are prepared or not!

  5. Write out a clear, concise statement of the goal, name the time you want to accomplish it, state what you will give in exchange, describe the plan as clearly as possible.

  6. Read it aloud! Read it twice daily; once when you wake up and again before you retire!

If you're anything like me then you have journals upon journals, notebooks with master plan after master plan. Test Hill's theory with me and let's see how much we can accomplish from September through December 31st.

My goal is to maximize my time and effort, stay focused on what's ahead of me and plan strategically. Knocking down one at a time instead of giving myself analysis paralysis sounds like a safe bet to me!

Before we part and go finish taking over the world, take a few moments to think about where you are right now, clap for yourself. Express gratitude for what you've been able to accomplish thus far, new relationships, opportunities, quality network, self motivation, all deserve acknowledgement and a round of applause. Treat this like our fourth quarter huddle and let's body this next 90 days.
