Jaya and Ulysses' story goes all the way back to high school in 2016. They were friends first--showing up at each other's birthdays, hanging out in the same circles, and keeping in touch even as life took them to different schools. After college, fate (and a mutual friend) brought them back together. Their very first date was dinner at their favorite Mexican spot followed by frozen yogurt at SweetFrog, where they stayed talking until 3 a.m. in the parking lot. That night changed everything.

When it came to planning their wedding, the initially thought they'd go the traditional route--June 2026, a guest list of over 100 people, and all the details that come with a big wedding. But in the process of planning, they realized something important: it didn't feel like them. Neither of them are big party people, and the thought of draining social batteries, rushing through the day, and maybe not remembering the moments that mattered most didn't sit right.

So they chose something different. Something intimate. Something that felt like their love.

Their wedding day began with a quiet, breathtaking first look at a sunrise in Shenandoah National Park--a chance to soak each other in before the day unfolded. Later, they celebrated with a heartfelt ceremony and cozy reception at Heritage Hill Bed and Breakfast in Waynesboro, Virginia, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
