Dick’s Sporting Goods House of Sport of Fayetteville held its first New Balance Health and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

The House of Sport collaborated with New Balance to celebrate physical health, mental wellness, social well-being and a new Cycle Bar location’s scheduled opening in October with local businesses and live product demonstrations from New Balance and CycleBar.

Dick’s events coordinator and community manager, Tonette Johnson, shares ways that she balances her career, motherhood and her health and wellness. “Health and wellness means to be particular with what you put in your body–to feel good in your body, mind and physical state” Johnson said. “I drink clean juice everyday, I have three children so for my mind I practice yoga every morning, and I do things that I

love which is organizing events and staying

active and in motion.”

CycleBar set the pace of the fair by kicking off the event with more than 12 bikes and cyclists stationed at the center of the store for a 45 minute high intensity physical workout. The entrance, center and center adjacent aisles were encased by local businesses that promote health and wellness in ways ranging from diet, skincare, weight loss and physical activity.

A meaningful balance of personal health and wellness is not identical person to person but does require intention and commitment so local businesses Skin Savvy, Clean Eatz, Yoga Six, CycleBar, Prima Elements, Valor Massage, World Gym and All American Weight Loss presented the Fayetteville community with exclusive membership deals, goody bags and additional information on the services that they provide that help prioritize overall wellness.

World Gym office manager, Joseline O’Donoghue, believes that your personal wellness deserves daily perseverance. ”It means making everyday choices that support a healthy lifestyle as well as exercising and keeping your mental health a priority,” said O’Donoghue.

Connect with existing and emerging businesses in The District centered on Freedom Parkway Drive and local businesses in Fayetteville to learn ways to adopt new healthy eating habits, explore new activities to get moving and gain community while creating a healthy wellness lifestyle.
